Local/Regional COVID Data – ARCHIVED

Georgia is a large state, with huge differences between the Atlanta metro and counties in other parts of the state. This page shows various maps, graphs, and other sources for local and regional data about the spread of COVID-19.

Regional Case Trends – ARCHIVED 5/10/2023

The graphs below show data for COVID cases (confirmed and antigen) by four major geographical regions of the state.

  • The first graph is by report date, and shows the 7-day average of total cases. This allows you to see what is most influencing the daily trends in state-wide reported cases.
  • The second graph is the 7-day moving average case rate per 100K by case onset date. This allows you compare the relative case rates between regions, adjusted for population.

Additional County Information from GA DPH & CDC

Georgia DPH COVID-19 Dashboard
The GA DPH Covid dashboard provides county-level information on total cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, as well as case and death rates per 100K people in a table format. The dashboard also includes the ability to graph county cases, test positivity, and deaths over time, by date of report, as well as by date of case onset, test collection, or date of death. Select your county from the map or the drop-down, then view detailed graphs for your specific county. These graphs are best viewed on a computer, or by turning your phone sideways (landscape mode). You can zoom in on the graph on your phone or with the scroll wheel on your mouse to see only the most recent days. Note the last 14 days of the by Onset and by Date of Death graphs are uncertain though as DPH doesn’t yet know about the most recent illnesses until labs are taken and cases reported. GA DPH COVID County Indicator Reports
Additional county-level data is available in this report, which is updated by GA DPH every Thursday

COVID-19 Integrated County View from CDC.gov
This site allows you to view the CDC’s Covid Community Level for your county, which incorporates case rates and hospital data. Some government and commercial facilities use these levels to trigger mask requirements when rates are High. There are also graphs showing the relevant Covid metrics over time. The Community Level is updated weekly on Thursdays. Some of the other data on the page is updated more frequently.
